The beginning of my exchange student experience.I said "Bye" to all the people I love and went to Moscow,Russia. On pics you can see the hotel where we all met.As soon as we got there FLEX Staff gave us blue shirts.Of course the didn't have my size so it looked like it was my pj shirt or something. We were supposed to wear those shirts all the way to the USA...Gosh!!:)
From Moscow we went to Frankfurt,Germany. It was a short 2.5hr flight. My friend was afraid of flying, and the whole flight he was asking:"Why the plane is shaking?!OMG!!!We'r all gonna die!!!!!"That was so funny!!!:)And guess what was the first thing we ate in Frankfurt?:)I'm lovin it!Yea-it was McDonalds!!Then we got on the plane to Washington and started switching places-bcuz we all wanted to seat with our friends...
I came to Dallas,TX in 3 days after I left Russia. And my exchange student experience has begun. My host family met me at the airport, witha sign,so that I can recognize them.First I had a hard time in undrestanding people and what was going on.I just kept smiling to everybody-even when I didn't know what they were talki bout...And I thought that I was the only Russian in Wills Point, but I was wrong. My first school day I met Alfiya(Kazhan) and Kseniya(Penza),and we couldn't help it-but we were speaking russian. And we knew that we would get in trouble by Mimi(our Area Rep),but it felt so weird to speak english to each other...But it was only first 3 weeks:)Now it sounds weird to hear us trying(that's right-trying)to speak russian to each other....:))
I got a wonderful host family. My two little sisters Mariya and Darya, were adopted from Russia few years ago.I have a younger brother Christopher(or Chris-that's how everybody at school calls him)-he's kinda crazy bout sports:he plays football,soccer,tennis....N my host mom-Denise Ross was just like my real mom for the whole year.I appreciate everything she does for me n her kids.
This year wouldn't be that cool without people who helped me in difficult situations and who could always watch over me.This people are my teachers at school and my Area Rep and her family.I love them so much and will miss them in Russia:)
